A set of two folding Plia chairs, by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli made in Italy in the 1970s. The Plia folding chair is an iconic piece that symbolised a new era in furniture design that focused on plastic. It was first seen at the 1967 Milan Furniture fair and was received so well that the chairs had to be tied to the stall with a chain.

Giancarlo Piretti revolutionised the concept of the folding chair and his “3 disk pivot” system was considered genius at the time. The combination of steel and polypropylene can be found in numerous different combinations of colours and still remains a cult piece of furniture.

Price is for both chairs, they are £245 each.
